Wonderful example of a rapidly appreciating 1975 BMW 2002 with rare factory sunroof in three pedal form. Absolute time capsule. Finished in malaga over pearl beige interior. Recently completed a full “open checkbook” mechanical restoration by a well known BMW specialist with near $6k in receipts. Mid-western sourced vehicle; has been with owner for about one year and garaged when not in use.
All panels are excellent and do not appear to show any corrosion whatsoever – floors, rockers and wheel arches are solid, as are both front and rear shock towers. All VDO gauges are operational. 14” BBS wheels wearing newer all-season tires. Rubber gaskets, plastic and glass are superb. The original carbureted engine runs exactly as it should and mated to a 4 speed manual transmission. Runs and drives as one would expect a well-sorted 2002 to perform. Note, there is a 1×1″ ding behind passenger door (see photo #4).
Services just completed:
– Battery and detail
– Tuneup/carburetor adjustment
– Both engine mounts
– Rear brake shoes, wheel cylinders, flush/bleed system
– Brake master cylinder
– New water pump, thermostat, hoses as needed
– New fan blade, radiator, upper and lower hoses
– New gaskets: intake manifold, exhaust manifold, valve cover, timing cover
– Drive belt
Would be very difficult to replicate at any cost. The knowledge and experience alone to bring this 2002 to the present level is scarce. Only OEM German parts were used to maintain this 2002. Toolkit and spare wheel to accompany sale.
